Valle Nevado, Chile, has announced an extension to its season until 8th November - meaning 143 skiing days will have been available this winter.

The resort has seen over 7m of snowfall this winter, at least 50% above average snowfall throughout this winter.

There will be limited facilities available during this time; expect hotels to be closed, so day trips will be necessary.

The snow continues to fall at Valle Nevado, with extreme conditions being forecast for this weekend; care is advised by the resort.

South America's mega winter is set to continue well into spring!
