Dear Reader,

I just wanted to pause for a minute, as the season has now officially come to an end, and take stock on what has been a truly awesome winter.

I’ve been fortunate enough to ski in some incredibly special places, skiing in Switzerland for the first time and returning to a place in Canada that is very special to my heart. I’ve shared deep conversations on safety with friends, and had the immense pleasure of sharing a ski with strangers as part of a new role as a Ski Club Rep.

Over two weeks in December, I grew my skiing like I never thought I would, developing mountaincraft and my own technique to a level I never thought possible. And in January I returned to La Clusaz to once again put some of the best of next year’s skis through their paces.

All this would not have been possible without everyone who worked to put these trips together, and thought fit to invite me, so to them I say thank you.

I also want to say thank you to each and every one of you, dear reader, who has taken time out of their day to read a post on Skiing Unlocked. When I started this thing two years ago, I had no idea where it would lead me. This season, over 3,500 of you have read my stuff nearly 5,000 times. Perhaps small numbers compared to some other places, but special for me nonetheless to know that my thoughts and ramblings are actually reaching people who might need them! Whether you were looking for a new ski jacket or trying to find inspiration to plan your next ski holiday, I hope you have found what you are looking for and unlocked your skiing.

To be able to take all of you on this season's journey with me has been what's made this time really special. Whilst Skiing Unlocked is not the vehicle that has sent me on these trips, to keep writing my season diaries and use this as a proving ground for thoughts and ideas that can then be refined and published elsewhere has been an immense pleasure.

This blog will keep going over the summer, as it did last year; I have so much incredible content saved up to help you and to continue to help you unlock your skiing, so don’t go anywhere. Remember to subscribe to The Ski e-mail newsletter (name a work in progress!) so you can be kept up-to-date with the latest and greatest from the blog as it happens.

If everything goes well this summer I will hopefully have some really exciting stuff to bring you in the Autumn. But until then, I will continue to keep giving you the keys to unlocking your skiing.

Remember, if there is something you want to know, a destination you want to explore more, ski jackets or boots you are eyeing up but remain uncertain on, or just have a question about skiing, don’t be shy; ask, ask, ask, and I will answer - use the Contact page or hit me up on Instagram.

So thank you, dear reader, for an awesome winter 2024/25 – here’s to the next one!

'Til then,

Henry
